About ....
I received a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Portland State University in 2002. With some downtime in between graduation and applying to graduate programs, I decided to further develop my hobby of photography by taking a class at the community college. An Annie Leibovitz video documenting her time at Rolling Stone magazine changed my career path. I was instantly inspired. This was a perfect way to mesh my love for music and photography. I feel that documenting the icons of my generation is important to the history of music. I decided against graduate school and got to work investigating photography programs. I was accepted into Brooks Institute of Photography and began my studies in 2003.

Upon returning home to Portland, I began photographing friends in bands in order to build a portfolio. I really feel that my concert photography was sprouted from a few lucky circumstances early on. A local photographer, Jeff Bizzell, invited me to shoot with him at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom. My visits to the Crystal became more frequent and I later became a house photographer. As my portfolio continues to grow, I continue pursuing other projects. I freelanced for Oregon Music Guide and started my own online music magazine, MOSS in January of 2006.

I recently spent six months in Los Angeles, CA., working in the entertainment sector for a stock/wire agency, RETNA. My experience has been broadened to covering events such as movie premieres, private parties, appearances, signings, and more. Clients include The New Yorker, Hennessy, Borders Books, and Super Estrella 107.1 FM. While the time I spent in Los Angeles made me a more well-rounded photographer, I found it necessary to return home to Portland.

My work has been featured in many publications including the following: Rolling Stone, Spin, Maxim, Entertainment Weekly, Relix, OK!, Music Inc., New York Post, MSN, ABC, People, Country Weekly, Details and more. Additionally, it has been used for promotional materials for national acts and CD packaging. Check out my tearsheets
